It is the right first question. The Coachella Valley gives you some of the most beautiful outdoor wedding weather in California, but it gives it to you on a schedule. Get the month right and your guests are dancing under string lights in perfect air. Get it wrong and everyone is looking for shade. After years of hosting weddings on this property, here is the calendar the way we would explain it to our own family.

Timing the ceremony around the desert sun
The desert rewards couples who plan around the light. In winter, the sun drops behind the mountains before 5 pm, so we suggest a 3 to 3:30 pm ceremony: warm light for vows, sunset during cocktail hour, and the string lights carry the night from there. In spring and fall, sunset moves later and a 5 pm ceremony sits right in the golden hour. Photographers love this property for exactly that window, when the palms go gold and the fountain catches the last light.
One more desert honesty: afternoons can bring a breeze. It is part of the charm of an open-air venue, and it is why our pergola and pavilion exist. Secure the florals, pin the veil, and the breeze becomes part of the photos instead of a problem.
What festival season means for an Indio wedding
We are in Indio, minutes from the festival grounds. Two April weekends a year, the entire valley books out: hotels triple, rideshares crawl, and your out-of-town guests will feel it. That does not make April a bad month. It makes it a month that rewards planning. If your heart is set on festival-adjacent dates, lock the venue and the room blocks early. If you have flexibility, the weekends before and after the festivals give you identical weather with none of the crowds.
Why couples pick a fully outdoor venue
Every wedding here happens under open sky: ceremony beneath the desert light, cocktail hour in the fountain courtyard, reception and dancing under the string lights.
